Hylt is the HYperLinked Text format; it's very similar in style to
MediaWiki pages, but with absolutely no markup but links. It's
meant to be "stress-free" in both editing and viewing, and its flat
text format means that keeping it in a revision control system gives
meaningful results (as opposed to some SQL database).
This is a very early version of the program, but it works quite well
for what its design goals are. That said, there's lots to do; if
you have ideas, suggestions, complaints, or would like to help
(especially that one!) feel free to
contact me.
hylt.py, the (only, for the time being) viewer for Hylt files, is
obviously developed in Python. It certainly works in Python 2.3,
where it was developed; let me know if you get it to work in previous
major releases.
Many thanks to Jochen Eisinger, Martin Ockajak, and John Vernon for
help in developing hylt.py.
